The Great Spotted Woodpecker (scientific name Dendrocopos majorest) is a bird found mainly in Europe and northern Asia. From the Picidae family, it is the cousin of the green woodpecker. They feed and nest exclusively in trees where they roost there all year round. Their beak makes it possible to dig the wood to settle there.
