For the year 1900, the French magazine Les Annales Politiques et Littéraires decided to create a set for its readers against a subscription. Edmond Lachenal (1855-1955?), a ceramist, was chosen to design the set and he worked with the Daum Manufacture to create Art nouveau glass pieces and with the Keller & Guérin Manufacture of Lunéville for earthenware pieces.
The "Mistletoe" (Fr: "Gui") set is also kept in the French Musée d'Orsay since the Rispal donation in 2005.
