Creil & Montereau was a factory created in 1840 by the merger of two rival firms: Creil (created in 1774) and Montereau (created in 1745). The factory was known for its technique of printed engraved decoration and for having produced the famous Rousseau service, after the engravings of Felix Bracquemond.
