Pair of very refined ewers in engraved crystal mounted on a silver sterling base. The octagonal base is decorated with symmetrical rocaille patterns such as interlaces and vegetal swirls, palm leaves, cartouches, flowers, shells etc. Very delicate work made by a french talented silversmith Victor Boivin.
Each ewer is stamped with the French silver guaranty hallmark on the lid and one ewer is signed beneath with the silversmith hallmark "VB" and the other one is numbered.
Wonderful work of the late made circa 1900. In 1897, Victor Boivin followed in the path opened of his father Jules Boivin, also a silversmith and owner of a Parisian workshop. He specialized in table items and was active until the early 20th. His brother is world well known for his creation of very precious jewels for collectors.
