Set of 12 silver-plated animal knife-rests after a model created by the animal sculptor Edouard Marcel Sandoz and realized by the silversmith Gallia circa 1930.
Set composed of 12 different animals: 1 peacock, 1 swan, 1 dove, 1 bear, 1 lion, 1pelican, 1 hare, 1 pork, 1greyhound, 1 lying dog, 1 lying cat, 1 fish.
Pieces signed "O.GALLIA" sold in their original box and the original sticker displaying the disposition and type of knife-rests.

Édouard Marcel Sandoz (1881 - 1971) was an animal sculptor, quite famous, who created stylized animals - almost cubist - in porcelain, in collaboration with Haviland, and in silver-plated with the silversmith Gallia.
