Art Deco silver plated Ice cream set for 8 people decorated with rings. Composed of 1 large service bowl and 8 individual cups. Each piece is signed on the bottom of the base with a seahorse stamp, "jHp" mark attributed to Jean Hippocampe Painlevé used by Jean Painlevé.

Jean Painlevé (1902-1989) was best known for his film work, but he also founded his brand "jHp" - for Jean Hippocampe Painlevé - in 1936. He made mainly accessories and jewelry, sold in his luxury stores "L'Hippocampe". His jewelry bears the mark "jHp", identical to that of this ice cream service, which allows us to formulate a possible hypothesis of attribution.
